The El Quemado Project is South American Lithium’s flagship asset and one of Argentina’s largest lithium-bearing land packages, spanning over 50,000 hectares in the Salta province. Nestled between the Palermo and Cachi Mountains at elevations of 3,800 to 4,700 meters, this district is renowned for its rich deposits of lithium, tantalum, niobium, and rare earth elements.
Historically mined in the 1940s for tantalum and niobium, El Quemado is surrounded by previously exploited zones, indicating strong prospective potential. Recent geophysical studies suggest the presence of non-outcropping pegmatitic bodies that may extend over 3 kilometers in length and reach depths of 30 meters, maintaining consistent mineral thickness.
Within the Santa Elena region of the property, trench sampling has revealed high-grade lithium values, including 1.41% Li₂O over 6 meters, highlighting the project's exploration upside. With 16 identified pegmatite outcrops ranging from 10 to 800 meters, El Quemado stands as a strategic asset in Argentina’s critical minerals landscape.
